On a recent day hike to try out my new day pack, I had planned on heading to the beach, or so I thought. It was a windy day and I could hear the surf in the distance. When I got to the edge of the embankment as you can see in my TikTok video, I came upon a 50 foot cliff! This location is a state natural area with a buried forest of black and white spruce, hemlock and pine, caused by the last ice age which ended 11,000 years ago as mentioned on the state website.
